Mark Smith
Mark Smith has been an educator at the secondary and post-secondary level for 30 years developing and implementing computer-integrated-manufacturing curriculum with a view towards the wood industry. Mark is currently working for Microvellum as their Brand Ambassador and is serving as the Chair of the Woodwork Career Alliance (WCA) Education Committee, the AWFS College of Woodworking Knowledge committee, and serves as a board member on the National Woods Board. Mark has worked in various industry-related positions over the years and was the National Director of WoodLINKS USA. He consults with companies who want to become familiar with CNC programming and operation. He is passionate about working with local and national companies to build pipelines for new hires. Mark was the recipient of the 2006 “Education is the Key” award, the 2007 “Golden Apple” award, and the WIA 2024 Educator of the Year award; over 80 articles have been written about his program and his students’ accomplishments.
